Lt. Governor Spencer Cox wins Utah’s Republican gubernatorial primary

The stakes: 

In Utah, Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox gained a competitive Republican primary to switch three-term Gov. Gary Herbert, who’s declining to run for a fourth time period and stepping down from workplace subsequent 12 months. 

Cox raised $2.46 million for his major bid and has been endorsed by Herbert, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Cox, who has served as Lieutenant Governor since 2013, was beforehand a Utah State Consultant, Sanpete County Commissioner, and Mayor of the town of Fairview.
